This bloggers prayer and hope to Congress’ House is that Congress Persons will not authorize, Speaker Pelosi, to send the articles of impeachment and her House managers/prosecutors to the Senate until fair sets of rules&procedures/witnesses/document-s are first agreed to. Would anyone send their basketball, football, soccer, baseball team out on the field to play if the rules&procedures for playing the game were not well understood and set for the teams before the game? Would any manager send out his team to work on a project without being sure they understood the dangers and risks and safety rules&procedures they’d need to know? The House has a constitutional right to impeach and to manage/prosecute its impeachment charges/cases. The Senate has a constitutional duty to not be arbitrary in formulating impeachment rules&procedures, but to observe basic fairness and respect for the House to prosecute/manage its impeachment cases.
Democrats, Speaker Pelosi has given citizens/the House a thousand good reasons why they should not allow/participate in Trump’s/McConnell’s/Republicans’ Dirty Deal by today voting to transmit to the Senate the articles of impeachment before a fair “arena” of rule&procedure/witnesses/documents has been agreed to. The Senate’s sole constitutional right to try impeachment cases does not include the right impair/cripple/vitiate/annihilate the House’s rights to fairly prosecute its case before the Senate. Contrarily the Senators take an oath to impartially consider the evidence. Why did some Democrats, some Democrat elites, abandon, back stab Speaker Pelosi and force her to stop holding the articles of impeachment before she’d succeeded in securing rules&procedures/witnesses/documents to ensure a fair/just/impeachment trial? The Speaker had famously asked, “Is that too much to ask?” Of course not! But some Democrats abandoned/back stabbed her by forcing her, thru her impeachment prosecutors/managers, into allowing/participating in Trump’s/McConnell’s/Republicans’ Dirty Deal of a rigged/phony/sham/mock ruse of an impeachment trial. When the public became riled up in opposition to the Kavanaugh nomination, they , the Republicans, pulled out the same old playbook they’ve been using since Trump was in the process of winning the Republican nomination in 2016. They sought to blunt the public’s outcry by giving temporary feigned, false criticism and concern about Trump or his policies to conceal their solid phalanx of support for Trump and his policies, but their final decisions were nearly always (99% of the time) to toe the party line for Trump and his policies.
So, Senator Flake of Arizona, a frequent user of that playbook, pulled it out to call for an FBI investigation of Kavanaugh. Flake’s FBI Investigation proved to be phony, but Flake nevertheless voted for Kavanaugh. That is typical of Phony Flake; feign criticism, feign concern, and conceal true intentions to toe the party line for Trump and his policies. Senator Flake should always be considered nothing but a unbending partisan willing to deceive and falsely mislead the public.

Republicans and Their Phony Self-Serving Criticism of Donald Trump

Republicans support Trump and occasionally allow Republicans to make phony harsh criticism and opposition to him but to return to the fold in support of Trump and his policies when the latest round of public opposition and criticism of him and his policies dies down. We’ve seen that playbook cycle time and time again from Republican critics assigned from time to time to act out that playbook cycle to give Republicans cover from public criticism and opposition against Donald Trump’s and his co-conspirators’ outrages and policies.
Consider the Arizona senator. Flake was a frequent critic of Trump during the early months of his administration when the Republican and the Republican party needed a lot of cover from the incoming public criticism and opposition to the Trump administration’s outrages, lies and policies. Then he went silent. When the tax bill, which Trump supported, to raid the USA’s treasury, to give massive tax cuts to the wealthy, to create massive debt, and to lay the basis for attacks on our social security and medicaid, and the middle class and poor people came up for debate and votes, he was silent, you didn’t hear a peep from him. Now, after having supported his party’s and Trump’s immoral tax bill, Flake’s back in the news, making extreme criticisms of his previous ally, Trump, following his comments on Haiti and African countries and their immigrants. Are Flake’s criticisms of Trump phony and strategically self-serving and insincere because they are merely designed to provide temporary cover for himself, other Republicans, and the Republican party, until they can use Donald Trump for their next mutually beneficial policy? Using such a strategy, the Republicans, including Flake, who merely blows hot air for cover, will never hold Donald Trump accountable for anything he’s done or will do by supporting credible investigations, censure, or impeachment.
Consider another such senator from South Carolina, Lindsey Graham. Graham was a severe critic of Donald Trump during the 2016 elections and during the early months of the Trump administration. Then, suddenly, one day after having played golf with Trump, he made a 180 degree turn and came out with effusive and lavish praise of Trump, and proceeded in the next weeks to strongly support Trump and his policies, including: like Fake, supporting the Republican/Trump immoral tax bill;….
Trump’s/McConnell’s/Republicans’ phony criticism/deceptive wavering is playbook SOP designed to trick the public into believing they are honestly wrestling with their conscience on how to fairly/justly/honestly give America/Americans a just impeachment trial of Trump. Are Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins the latest examples of Republicans’ use of their playbook of phony criticism/deceptive wavering in Democrats push for a fair impeachment trial in the Senate. We’ll wait and see, once again for the 1,000th time, if they are the ones, this time, assigned to execute the Republican playbook of phony criticism/deceptive wavering.
Republicans have a playbook of phony criticism and deceptive wavering to temporarily mollify, calm, give false hope to Democrats and members of the public hoping for compromise or back down. At times when that playbook is used, it has proven to be very effective for the Republicans since they hold the majority in the Senate.
Republicans are and have been, during Trump’s campaign, installation, and functioning, 1,000% behind Trump/Putin&Russia 90% of the time. Trump/Republicans/Putin&Russia, altogether fully rapped themselves in an embrace that allowed no daylight between them. So, until recently, when Republicans emerged from hiding/from underground as Russified Confederate Republicans during the impeachment inquiry hearings and vote, whenever Trump did something wrong, outrageous, criminal, treasonous, Republicans would initially run for the cover of silence, sending out one or a few to give criticism of Trump’s outrage or crime or wrong as cover for all Republicans. That created a false hope amongst Democrats of Republican compromise, back down, defections. But once Republicans’ phony criticism and deceptive wavering on Trump’s wrong/outrage subsided, and Democrats fanned false hope of compromise/defections, Republicans would continue the charade all the way to victory for Trump/Republican/Putin&Russia on the very things Democrats initially exploded in protest against.
Republicans have previously on numerous occasions sent out Graham, Rubio, Collins, Murkowski, Flake, Cruz and other Republicans to perform their playbook of phony criticism and deceptive wavering on the Democrats and the public very effectively in the past since the hold the majority in the Senate.
